Love Is Intentional
intentional-lovecommitmentclarityefforthealing
Love is not loud.
Not the grand gesture,
not the perfect speech,
not the promise of forever spoken too easily.
Love is quieter than that.
Love is listening
without someone having to raise their voice.
Love is understanding
without turning feelings into “too much”
or “overreacting”
or “just a mood.”
Love does not make someone.
defend their need to be cared for.
Love does not confuse clarity with conflict,
or questions with attacks.
Love does not use silence.
like a weapon
or an ending.
Time does not fix
what love refuses to name.
Unspoken things linger.
They settle into the chest.
They grow heavier.
Love sits with the discomfort.
Love stays for the conversation.
Love chooses effort
even when it would be easier to walk away.
Because love is not chasing.
Love is choosing again,
and again,
and again.
Choosing the quiet days.
Choosing when the spark turns into work.
Choosing when the world feels heavy.
Love is not distance.
Love is presence.
Not perfectly.
Not loudly.
But intentionally.
And anything less
is only the idea of love
not the real thing.
